LEAD\/ TOXINS IN DISHES:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dishes are a good thing to prioritize being lead free, since you and your family eat off them every day, and some dishes have been show to leach lead into food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought I\u2019d share what dishware I have and other good options I learned about. In the picture is Murano by Bormioli Rocco, a brand that claims to be lead Free, and mine were verified lead free with XRF testing by Lead Safe Mama. Amazon Affiliate link to the cups I have: https:\/\/amzn.to\/3rMe575<\/a>. Since we eat off the dishes daily it was a priority to make sure this was a non toxic purchase. We love them (and get no benefit from talking about it)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other safe and lower cost options are clear Duralex or Anchor Hocking (my mug is that brand too; Amazon affiliate link: https:\/\/amzn.to\/<\/a>3KCr18j<\/a>, all white Corelle (but not the mugs); Amazon affiliate link: https:\/\/amzn.to\/3nWESwx<\/a>, Fiestaware, target threshold white, Macy\u2019s hotel collection, crate and barrel (New and square; older has lead), or ikea. Corelle modern plain white dishware is lead green. Be sure to avoid vintage painted Corelle<\/a> and Pyrex (made by the same brand) such as the painted milk glass bowls and dishes with painted designs. The new painted Corelle dishware contains cadmium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GLASS FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For home food storage use, I use clear Pyrex or the blue glass bowls shown above. I often just cover with a glass plate, because I don\u2019t put any kind of plastic in the dishwasher and don\u2019t want to hand wash the Pyrex lids \ud83d\ude02. Lead Safe Mana recently tested Yoda Pyrex as lead free so I got these: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m also looking into cloth lids such as these<\/a> (not an affiliate link), but they are expensive and I hesitate to get a non-organic cloth. In general because I\u2019m a germaphobe, I worry about germs from the laundry, discussed in my cleaning post. I also do have some beeswax wraps but to be honest have never used them. I could be wrong but they just don\u2019t seem to be something I\u2019d like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
